RCWare Vision crash under Windows 10 / 11

If you can't start RCWare Vision, it crashes when you try to connect to the PLC, or when you check the scripts, try the following advice:

  • If you upgraded Windows 10 to Windows 11, and RCWare Vision stopped working correctly, you need to uninstall the version for .NET 4 (including RCWare Extensions) and install the version for .NET 1.1. Before installation, it is advisable to install the .NET 1.1 framework (download here) and then the service pack.

  • If RCWare Vision was working for you on Windows 10 and now crashes, it may be caused by the KB5011048 update that was installed automatically. You can view updates by clicking Start - Settings - Updates and security - View update history. There you can click on the Uninstall updates link to remove it. To prevent this update from being automatically installed again, you can hide it with a tool from Microsoft. The procedure is as follows: uninstall the update, run the tool, click on Hide updates, mark the given update and press Next.

  • If you still have a problem, please contact technical support.
