Merbon Scada, a well-known platform for monitoring and controlling energy processes, operates exclusively using the SSCP protocol with devices by Domat Control System.
In recent years, this platform has become a key tool for many companies. However, despite its popularity and wide usage, we have made the decision to move in a different direction.
This decision has been driven primarily by increasing legislative requirements and demands in the area of cybersecurity, specifically the CRA (Cyber Resilience Act). These significantly increase the complexity and cost of maintaining software products—not only from a technical standpoint, but also financially.
Our core business has always been in the area of PLC systems and the software tools used for their configuration and operation. These are the products we intend to continue focusing on fully in the future. In short, we want to dedicate more effort to developing high-quality, sustainable, and secure solutions that meet both legal requirements and the needs of you—our valued business partners.
SCADA solutions represent a distinct product category that requires specialized development, dedicated teams, and significant investment. There are specialized professional companies that have been focusing on these systems for many years. Therefore, our priority will be seamless integration with these professional solutions.
Among the key systems we actively support are:
- Geovap – Reliance (SSCP, and later also SoftPLC Link)
- ICONICS (BACnet)
- Promotic (BACnet)
- Mervis (Domat SSCP, SoftPLC Link)
We are working to make the transition of your projects as smooth as possible, both technically and commercially. It is also important to emphasize that as of July 1, 2025, we will only stop issuing new Merbon Scada licenses. The system will remain fully functional and supported by us for 2.5 more years. After that period, we will no longer be able to guarantee reliable operation of the application. Its future functionality will depend on updates to operating systems and the lifecycle of existing hardware.
We believe this transition period is long enough to find the most reasonable and future-proof visualization solution together.
Thank you for your continued cooperation, and we look forward to working with you further. Should you have any questions, feel free to contact your sales representative or our technical support team.
