This half-day training course is intended for programmers and system integrators. It provides an introduction to the fundamentals of the BACnet protocol, which, as a standardized communication protocol, is the first choice for system integration at the automation level. We will cover the basic principles of BACnet communication, explain objects and their properties, and demonstrate how to configure both a BACnet server and client in Domat IDE. In the practical part, participants will learn how to explore a BACnet server using a generic client and analyze communication traffic with Wireshark.
Please bring your own laptop equipped with your preferred PLC and SCADA software featuring BACnet client functionality. The computer must have an Ethernet interface. Make sure you have administrator access to Windows (required for installing Wireshark and YABE) and configure your laptop with an IP address in the range 192.168.1.x. If you have your own BACnet server device (PLC, controller, meter, etc.), feel free to bring it along—it will make the practical sessions even more interesting and engaging.
